Pacific Rim Cabinets was founded on one man's dream of designing and manufacturing cabinets in a more flexible environment, and delivering them to customers at affordable prices. Building on over 35 years of experience in every aspect of the cabinetry business, company president Bill Dewinetz founded Pacific Rim Cabinets in 1997. The demanding Japanese market for North American cabinetry and design has always been an area of focus for Pacific Rim Cabinets. The Japan export manufacturing expertise developed by Pacific Rim Cabinets has given the company significant strength in the domestic North American market as well. The same strong emphasis upon the fundamental philosophy provid superior product quality, durability, ease of installation, and then back it up with a 10 year warrantee. Pacific Rim Cabinets has developed a global reputation for cabinetry featuring the ultimate value available in Canada and the United States. |

History In the early 1990's there was a very strong demand for North American cabinets in Japan that was being held back by the following concerns. 
All cabinets where made in inches, Japanese appliances wouldn't fit properly and it was not easily understood by the builder.
Japanese specifications where not followed so, besides many other things, base cabinets where made too high with the kick cut off and wall cabinets where too narrow for the Japanese hood fans.
Installation was deemed by the Japanese builder to be too difficult because of the traditional North American manufacturers' expectations of the site work preformed by the installer. For example, kick base was not assembled/ knobs not installed etc.
Japanese consumers wanted North American cabinets but they also wanted the same kinds of interior cabinet features that both their cooking style and culture required.
PRC was founded in 1997 in Delta, British Columbia with the specific objective of eliminating all of these concerns while@producing a very high quality North American cabinet for Japan.
It stood to reason that by doing so the market would open up in even greater numbers and provide a significant business opportunity.
Initial target market was a Japanese mansion requiring mid-range kitchens but this market rapidly decreased in 1997 as a result of a poor Japanese economy. As a result, PRC was faced with the immediate challenge of re-directing efforts towards producing high-end single kitchens and matching furniture style cabinets in order to find its market in Japan.
This created the need for a strong manufacturing system based upon flexibility, efficiency and just-in-time inventory that allowed for customized cabinets and components to be designed and produced with greatly reduced lead times and cost.
The standard cabinets components that where already engineered for multi-use production would result in minimal inventory and low production costs adding even more significant cost savings for our customer.

Today
Over the past 10 years, utilizing our unique manufacturing system, PRC has grown into a strong diversified market manufacture. While Japan remains our core business, we also enjoy a significant share of the local mid to high end residential market for personalized cabinetry.
PRC is also very active in multi-unit project work both locally in British Columbia and in the Pacific North West. We have had the pleasure of producing the cabinetry in large commercial and residential condominium developments as far a field as Guam, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Hawaii and Japan.

Market Approach
Produce a high quality product in metric measurement to Japanese specifications, make it as easy to install as Japanese made kitchens (easier!) and ensure that all required interior accessories are available.
Make the product line available to large builders and building supply companies who can than provide gPersonalized Kitchensh to their customers. To facilitate the process offer a complete quoting and drawing service for everything from the single gIh shape kitchen to the customerfs original ideas to having our designers come up with a personalized gNorth American Designh.

Innovative Product Solutions
Pacific Rim Cabinets has created an extensive line of standardized cabinets, components and accessories that allow our clients to create personalized life style solutions for their customers without the large expense of purchasing custom cabinets. Innovative products such as kick drawers, fluted posts, columns, angle and curved cabinets, unique wine racks, built in halogen lights, and a vast array of cabinet accessories are utilized by our designers to deliver exactly what our clients desire, without the huge expense normally associated with custom projects.

The key to our manufacturing success lies in engineering; translating detailed design specifications into efficient methods of production ensures that we pass along these cost savings to our customers.
